Although Wenceslao Fernández Flórez spent most of his life in Madrid, the house known as ‘Villa Florentina’ is an important reference in the life and work of the writer. He would come to her frequently, escaping the hustle and bustle of Madrid, in search of the natural soiege of the Galician terriña. In it he illuminated one of his best-known works, The Animated Forest, immortalizing the magical and mysterious charm of the adjacent forest, a long time disappeared. Currently, the house serves as the headquarters of the Foundation and as a House-Museum.
Here are housed the writer’s household items, his books and other materials of great research interest. His most important role is the permanent exhibition of works and personal objects, although his library and other corners of the house serve to transport us the other time and penetrate into the daily life of the artist.
