The evening light illuminates every evening the crosses on the cliffs facing the sea in memory of the dead and disappeared. At that moment the two elements, sunsets and tragedies, which renamed the Latin Finisterrae to become Costa da Morte, are offered together.

Today it remains one of the busiest strategic points on intercontinental shipping routes and one of the most dangerous for navigation. The cartographic record of shipwrecks and salvages is full of crosses representing more than a hundred and a half sunken ships in the last century, but the account of the daily scares in the collective memory of a seafaring people, otherwise happy and vital, is lost.
