Acea da Má Mill

They are today an ethnographic jewel, and the oldest tide mills in Galicia.

Información

The mills of Acea De Ama remind us of the splendour that the town of Culleredo experienced in the Middle Ages. The name of the place where they were located was marked by them since Acea, according to the RAG (Galician Royal Academy) means mill, located in an estuary in this case, and Ama would be the name by which the estuary would have been known in the past. It is a group of tide mills, that is, the mechanisms with which the mill works on wheels were driven by the stagnant water of the tides. Located next to the estuary, they are today an ethnographic jewel, and the oldest tide mills in Galicia.
