Back common stone

It has a compact body, with its short legs, neck and beak. The legs have an intense orange coloration. The color of plumage varies with the seasons. During the winter its head is light brown. The dorsal area is dark brown, grey and black and the ventral area white, with black neck and breast. In the breeding season the males have the head and neck covered with an eye-catching black and white design and with the red dorsal area.
